Chlorophyll, the Miraculous Green Substance of Plants

Chlorophyll, the Miraculous Green Substance of Plants

In Asterix, the well-known French-Belgian comic book series, a small, galatic village resists the Romans successfully thanks to the magic broth made by Panoramax. The ingredients of this broth are kept secret by all other comic characters and readers.

Of course we are not in a position to reveal to you the ingredients of the magic broth, especially when it comes to the imaginative creation of a shooter. But what we can tell you with certainty is that in Mother Nature there is a substance that makes "miracles", which is none other than chlorophyll.

Dr. Ann Wigmore, the first after Hippocrates to say that food can become a medicine, described chlorophyll as the green elixir of grass and herbs. Every plant has the tendency to absorb water, metals and gases from the ground and air, which through photosynthesis transforms them into carbohydrates, proteins and energy. All these nutrients are stored in plants.

You may have noticed that some of the planet's liveliest animals are fed exclusively with plants. Elephants, horses and cattle are large and powerful animals that manage to live exclusively as herbivores.

In many of our articles we have highlighted the long history of the creation of natural medicines, namely the preparation of herbal formulations exclusively from plants.

At the beginning of the last century chlorophyll was considered to be an exclusive component of the pharmaceutics. Many doctors used it to treat various problems such as ulcers, dermatopathies and bad breath, as well as analgesics. However, after World War II, chlorophyll and herbal preparations in general were replaced by chemicals that act more quickly.

One of the most important effects of chlorophyll is oxygenation of the blood. If there is a deficiency of oxygen in the blood, the body is unable to "burn" food efficiently. According to Ann Wigmore, with inadequate digestion, insufficient absorption and inadequate elimination of metabolic by-products, disorganized immune system and reduced oxygenation, the body becomes predisposed to cancer.

All fresh raw vegetables, fruits and sprouts, as well as shoots (especially wheatgrass) contain oxygen in liquid form. Their consumption promotes the oxygenation of the blood.

Chlorophyll is the "blood" of the plant. It is the protein of the plant kingdom that gives the plants their characteristic green or purple color. The chlorophyll molecule is almost identical to the hemoglobin molecule that transports oxygen to human blood. The main difference is that the chlorophyll core contains magnesium, while the hemoglobin core contains iron.

Therefore, consuming a respected amount of green foods and beverages on a daily basis (especially wheatgrass), we take on valuable nutrients such as minerals, enzymes, vitamins, oxygen and protein.

Grass-like grassland is essentially the stem produced from the grain of wheat, before it is formed into wheat. Because wheatgrass is very rich in fibers that are indigestible for humans, we always get juice.
