Flowers are the answer for happiness!

Flowers are the answer for happiness!

Our brain is able to produce chemicals that make us happy when given the appropriate stimulus. These are dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin. These substances are more or less known, but let's see how they are precisely related to the care of our flowers.

Dopamine

Dopamine is triggered when the expectation of reward is at stake. Man unconsciously linked the flowering of flowers to the coming of abundance after a hungry winter. The evolution of our species naturally has now solved - for at least part of the population of the earth - the theme of nutrition for the whole year, so we do not associate the flowers with the food.

But the flowering does not cease to feel that something new and special comes, thus activating dopamine.

Bright colors, in fact, signaled valuable food for hunters-gatherers, thus balancing their overall diet. They did not do it, of course, because they knew chemistry, but perhaps dopamine and the positive feeling that created, attracted their attention.

Oxytocin

It is called "the hormone of love". Oxytocin is the hormone that creates the feeling of social trust, romantic love and motherhood. Because we know how difficult it is in our daily life to have this feeling and how quickly it can be lost, it is customary to be willing to find ways to stimulate it. Flowers are the answer!

They are associated with a sense of social trust. They can express the intention of investing effort in a relationship or showing respect. In a more abstract approach, relationships are as fragile as flowers, so the care we give to our plants helps us to remember the care that our relationships need.

Serotonin

Serotonin is a chemical substance reported in antidepressant cases. What feeling just excites? That of personal pride, social recognition. Flowers are the means that can help our brain to stimulate this sense we are looking for.

Maybe the issue of social recognition is not something that is generally discussed, but it is a question. And in cases where the brain fails to stimulate serotonin, then the feeling left is bitter. That is why we are looking for socially acceptable ways to activate it. Flowers are one of these ways. Either give, receive, or buy for yourself, flowers help you feel socially important, effortlessly and simply.
