Most of us know the only property of coffee, one that keeps us awake or generally alert. But its grains are particularly rich in antioxidants, polyphenols.
That is, we are talking about those substances that protect our bodies from damage caused by various factors such as stress, various foods or the contamination of the atmosphere and the environment. In particular, they neutralize free radicals, thereby protecting our cells.
At the same time, valuable nutrients such as riboflavin (vitamin B2), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), manganese, but also potassium, magnesium and niacin (B3) are found in coffee.
The beneficial properties of coffee
There is scientific evidence for the positive properties of this highly popular and 'strong' beverage when it is naturally consumed in moderation. But it is now proven to have benefits for both skin and hair.
The stimulation that we feel with a cup of coffee, respectively, can be given to skin and hair, by choosing a skincare product containing coffee.
How does it help improve skin and hair health?
Strengthens the natural defenses and aesthetics of the skin
· As mentioned above, the polyphenols found in coffee block the free radicals, which cause various damage to the skin. The environment is unfortunately full of such roots as pollution particles, which makes this detoxification process particularly important.
· Another active ingredient in coffee is caffeic acid, which has antimicrobial and antioxidant properties while contributing to collagen production. This results in a delayed aging of the skin cells.
· Also, coffee is an important weapon against photo aging, sun spots, redness and wrinkles.
· Caffeine has the capacity to dilate blood vessels, which facilitates blood circulation in our body. This, in turn, may, among other things, help reduce blood cellulite.
And although the above observation leads us to conclude that coffee can have such an effect internally on our bodies, beauticians still have something to tell us. Coffee can be an essential ingredient for scrubs and exfoliation products in order to obtain a particularly healthy and smooth skin.
Even massaging with such a product can at the same time achieve the exfoliation we need, but also see an anti-cellulite effect.
For healthy and shiny hair
Proper hair care is not only needed to look beautiful, but most importantly to be healthy. Let's not forget that the scalp is also a skin that sweats, sebum and rejects dead cells.
The pH at this point is acidic, so the quality of the products we use is important. When they have a higher pH, they result in more dull hair, grease, hair breakage or scissors.
Coffee, being naturally acidic, with values between 4.8 and 5.1, helps to balance the pH of the hair and scalp. This ensures the health of our hair, giving it a shiny look, while providing dandruff protection.
