Τhe oldest yoga teacher on the planet died in her 101 years.
A great yoga teacher closed her eyes a few days ago ... she danced to another planet, as she typically used to tell her students. This is Tao Porchon-Lynch who passed away at the age of 101 on Friday, February 21.
Teacher Tao left behind an important work, and her lifestyle was a brilliant example of a relentless and unassuming man.
She was of French and Indian descent and discovered yoga at the age of 8. At 93 she was declared by Guinness Book as the oldest yoga teacher on the planet. In addition to yoga, she was a lover of ballroom dance, as well as showing off her dance abilities at America's Got Talent in 2015. She had written the book Reflections: The Yogic Journey of Life.
For the last 80 years of her life she woke up at 5am and did her yoga. Even before her death she taught 6-8 lessons a week and was hanging out with the greatest well-being and wellness gurus. She was a professional dancer, driving her car, always dyeing her nails in bright colors and adoring nature.
"When I wake up in the morning, I know this will be the best day of my life. I never think about what I can't do. You should only have positive thoughts in the morning. And never postpone anything for tomorrow, "he said, applying these principles literally.
This important teacher has left us, among other things, a Decade of Wisdom worthy of finding ways to integrate it into our goals and our lives.
1. I never thought about age. I have always believed honestly and still believe that there is nothing I can do. I believe that all the power of the universe is within me.
2. Leave the yawning yawn behind you and begin to feel a breeze of life pulsing inside you.
3. I see the beauty of nature. And she tells me that even the trees become more beautiful as they grow older.
4. Don't load your plate. Do not get laid. Do not fill your mind with fear. Tomorrow never comes and don't postpone.
5. 100-year-old trees recycle themselves and throw new flowers. Recycle yourself. Nature gives you clues to live.
6. I'm still in my head at 20. And I have no intention of growing up.
7. I never say goodbye. I say "au-revoir". The farewell is so finishing. Au-revoir means I'll see you again!
8. I have learned that if you face the challenges in front, you will find more power. Don't run away from what seems challenging. It can be an important path for your life. You have to be persistent and follow what you believe.
9. Breathing is the power behind all things. I breathe and I know that everything will be done
10. I will teach yoga until I can no longer breathe and then just fly to the next planet.
Her death was announced on social media:
"We regret to announce that our beloved Tao died this morning."
