One of the usual questions we are concerned with in the summer is whether swimming in the swimming pool can compete for bathing in the sea. At first glance, the answer seems easy, as the benefits of seawater can not be denied. However, both options have the pros and cons.
Sea
Prons:
- Sea water contains iodine, a trace element that is valuable to humans, since it stabilizes metabolism and helps develop.
- In seawater, we find the 92 minerals found in nature and in our body such as magnesium, calcium and sodium and many more.
- In the sea live micro-organisms, phytoplankton, etc. which strengthen the body, especially the immune system. Besides, the mere fact that the sea is a source of life for hundreds of thousands of living beings, is a further indication of its inexhaustible powers.
- Bathing in the sea can help treat allergic rhinitis and sinusitis by cleansing sinuses.
- It is also recommended for the respiratory system, as the sea breeze treats asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory diseases. Do not forget that there is a whole medical branch called thalassotherapy.
- Because of its vastness, the sea has a much smaller concentration of microbes. Indeed, it tends to self-purify, as its living organisms are recycling laboratories. Of course, this is up to a limit, so waters in areas with intense industrial activity should be avoided.
- Due to salt, the lift of sea water helps us to float and swim without much effort. It has been calculated that in the water we feel only 10% of our weight. So we can exercise and have fun without stressing our bodies.
Cons:
- At sea you can not adjust the temperature, so if the weather is cold, the water will be frozen.
- Also, there is no protection against weathering. The main problem in this case is the dangers posed by sea currents and waves, especially for young children and the elderly.
- Sea water can be cleaner or at least constantly renewed, but if you lie down in the sand, it is likely to stick fungi. That is why you should always have a towel or a towel with you.
- Several more traps are hiding in the sea of the sea, which in many cases have been fatal for bathers. One of the most characteristic is the bite of a range of marine species, such as gingerbread and jellyfish, and larger fish.
- Another serious drawback associated with human negligence, at the expense of murder, is the uncontrolled many times of boat traffic and jet skis near the coast.
- Almost every summer we hear in our country about more or more serious accidents because of the bad handling and the recklessness that characterizes many.
- Also, surely less dangerous but absolutely prohibitive is the cost of entry to organized beaches. Particularly in the Attica basin, most of the beaches, which are easily accessible by the majority of the city's residents, require a particularly high entry fee.
Swimming pool
Prons:
The positive ones include many obvious ones, but we need to consider them to see what suits our temperament, our requirements and our obligations (for example, if we have children with us).
- The swimming pool, whether it's that of our hotel or our house, is definitely controlled temperature, adapted to the weather.
- We do not have to deal with waves or streams, so the bathroom is completely tranquil.
- It is available to us at any time, without any hassle, as we live in the surrounding area.
- The lack of buoyancy makes swimming more demanding, so it is ideal for gymnastics.
- It offers a sense of comfort and luxury, especially when the space is elegantly decorated and decorated.
- For those accompanying children is a good solution as space is more controlled. Supervision and vigilance are however necessary at any time.
