8 ways to stay safe in the sun

8 ways to stay safe in the sun

May the sun not have decided yet to come and stay, yet we need to be ready to protect ourselves from the dangerous part of its radiation. We are also living in a country that sets in high places on the list of the sunniest countries in the world, so we owe our skin a lasting care.

Let's get all the beneficial elements from the sun and keep away its harmful piece. So to remember what steps we should start to take, we list a list of 8 such suggestions (or recommendations).

 1. Does the sun of spring require protection?

The question in fact could in itself be an entire article. Here, however, we will try to give you all the basic information to remember what you need.

In the spring our skin is not prepared for sudden and sharp exposure to intense ultraviolet radiation. In particular, ultraviolet radiation consists of UVB, which is mainly responsible for carcinogenesis, UVA associated with photoaging, and UVC, which is absorbed by ozone.

What about our sunshine exposure? What can happen is called photodermatitis and is presented as a multiform eruption with intense pruritus. Indeed, in cases where the skin has suffered once from such symptoms, it acquires sensitivity and protection at first exposure to the sun is absolutely necessary.

2. Under what criteria we choose the right sunscreen?

Initially, it must have a high SPF index, which is related to B radiation protection. For A radiation, although a corresponding indicator is not recorded, high protection should also be reported for it.

We are also interested in having a photostability, that is, not to alter its composition under the influence of radiation with its sunscreen filters.

For your face you should prefer the oil-free formulations, so the skin may "breathe" the skin and not to create acne on the it.

Suitable sunscreen should also be waterproof to provide you with adequate protection during swimming or sweating.

3. How do I use sunscreen correctly?

The sunscreen is one of the things you need to have it every time you go out. Always in your bag. Regarding the quantity we use, it is estimated that average use is less than necessary. Thus, the protective layer on our skin is finer and therefore the result is not desirable.

Using a sunscreen with a SPF 30 protection marker, you actually have 10 or 15 SPF protection. So what is the solution? The most convenient is to use sunscreen with SPF 50, especially in the summer. Alternatively, if you have already purchased sunscreen with SPF 30, then take care of a thicker layer of cream on your skin.

4. In addition to sunscreen, what other protection is there?

We said the sunscreen is in your bag's must. It has been said and written hundreds of times that the hat is just as necessary. But, for the sake of the image, we usually sacrifice our protection. The hat is sure to provide protection from the sun, but it is also a special touch to a woman's style. Find the right one and go out or on the beach properly equipped and stylish.

5. Are Sunglasses Necessary?

Sunglasses are one of the most valuable things to protect our eyes but are usually poorly treated. This results in scratches on their surface, from where UV rays end up. Experts suggest shaky glasses be withdrawn, as well as changing glasses every two years. Also keep them in the special case in which you buy them.

6. Sunscreen all over the face or partly?

For some it is self-evident that we apply the cream to the entire face, but certainly not to everyone. It has been observed the formation of melanomas in the area of the eyebrows or the hairline, where sunscreen is difficult to reach. However, these areas also do not need protection.

7. Protection only to the beach?

Incorrectly, some of us take our measures mainly when we start going to the beach or on our holiday. Let us know that this is not enough. Summer and sunshine require sunscreen, whether you are on the way to work, shopping or coffee in a square.

8. Is the umbrella on the beach enough?

The shade of the umbrella or a tree is far better than being directly exposed to the ultraviolet radiation of the sun. However, this protection is by no means sufficient. Sunscreen is always necessary and it is recommended to apply it half an hour before sun exposure for better results.

Get all the above in mind and enjoy the sun all day long!
